backgroundLongport, New Jersey is a borough of Atlantic City located right along a port. Tourists flock from all over during the summer months just to see the ships dock. Along with the port is the beach that much of the younger population spends their time at - some year round. Whether it be enjoying the sun during the day, surfing some of the larger waves, serving as a lifeguard, or attending a bonfire at night, this has always been one of the most popular locations in the town i for tourists and the locals alike. There's a short pier with small shops and restaurants along it that is quite crowded during the day when the weather provides. The center of town is not overly large, but it consists of a few thrift shops, a music store, clothing stores, two clubs, and a variety of different restaurants. The occupants of this town range from extremely wealthy to just barely making it by, the division obvious by the area of town that they live in. The northern section of town contains many of the rich and middle class families, while the southern section contains those that are not as well off. Regardless of what part of the town you live in, the majority of the local residents have known one another most their lives.  town information
